Sometimes the best apps are the simplest apps, the ones that take advantage of the cool functionality of the iPhone/iTouch without adding in too much complexity. Miximen understands that, and also values excellent graphics, which often makes the difference between a poor app and a great one.

I know this because, as often happens to me, I downloaded two very similar apps to try out. Their ideas were much the same, based on the old-fashioned mix n’ match flip books, allowing you to swipe between different heads, bodies, legs, feet, etc. making endless combos. One of the apps had used dodgy images and the functionality moved too quickly for small fingers (and this is definitely an app for younger kids). The second one, Miximen, moved fluidly but with a solid clunk, and the images were sweet and funny. My choice of which to promote was therefore quite easy.

In a world where there are now more than 100,000 apps to choose from, there is bound to be duplicated content and ideas. So now, more than ever, quality and an understanding of your audience matters. With Miximen, you have both; and I would bet my best hat that this app was created by a parent.

You’ll like it because: Simple with endless permutations.
